The week before Christmas, a dear friend of ours got married in New Orleans. I had never been there before, so it was a really exciting experience for me. We stayed in a hotel in the French Quarter, and we saw all the sights in the city. Jonathan had actually been to the city years ago, and he still remembered his way around well enough to be a wonderful tour guide. The first place we went was Cafe Du Monde to try some beignets. They were absolutely wonderful!
We managed to see all the city and eat lots of good food on Friday. Saturday was the wedding. It was lots of fun as well. There was a Louisiana flair about the whole thing. We enjoyed a beautiful ceremony and a fabulous reception with dinner and dancing. My favorite part was a fun little thing that from what I understand is called the "Follow Dance" where you literally follow the leader around and waive your napkin in the air. Kudos to Patrick and Meghan for a throughly enjoyable destination wedding :)
